Hi! I'm Becky Lee, the Librarian at Valley Oaks Elementary School in Houston, Texas. We are a school in the Spring Branch Independent School District. I have been working at Valley Oaks for 13 years. I started my career teaching first grade in Room 10, and then moved up to 5th grade in Room 32. This is my 6th year to be the Librarian at Valley Oaks, and I love it!

Texas Bluebonnet Award

Each year, between September and January, students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade have the opportunity to read books off of the Texas Bluebonnet Award Nominee list. There are 20 books, both fiction and non-fiction. In order to vote for their favorite, students must read a minimum of 5 books off the current year's list.
